Love the High Tea set. It's sturdy and the pieces are chunky so great for small hands. They look really pretty aswell, good enough to eat. It's a great pretend set for using in toy kitchens or for tea parties but also good for hand eye co-ordination and learning numbers 1 to 15.
Fantastic, bought one in August and the granddaughter has not stopped playing with it, fantastic quality too
An exquisitely made shape sorter that looks good enough to eat! Develops shape matching and number recognition skills and also provides the perfect prop for a pretend tea party! http://insidethewendyhouse.blogspot.com
The High Tea Shape Matching Set is VERY pink, it is pretty and girlie and sweet. Made from wood, it is durable and nice to play with. It is good quality and well made, the attention to details was fabulous and the cakes do honestly look good enough to eat.
Is a lovely stand alone tea set style toy but I loved that it also acted as both shape matching and number matching to stretch the play value even further. Little girls in particular will love the High Tea set!
The perfect multi-tasking toy - great for number/shape recognition as a shape sorter, the cakes are highly detailed so inspire a lot of "tea party" pretend play and when you've finished with it for the day, it makes a gorgeous decorative object on a shelf in the bedroom. My daughter received one of these for Christmas and what a delight it is. It is fabulously made, all the pieces are wooden and well painted. The stand is gorgeous and as for the cakes - they look good enough to eat. As you can imagine this toy is excellent to be used in pretend play and we have had endless tea parties, pretend cafes and going to the cake shop role play. It has also helped her in number recognition as each cake is numbered on the bottom and has a numbered slot on the stand. Although my daughter already knew her shapes, her younger brother has shown an interest in picking up the cakes and trying to put them into the relevant shaped slot. This has been a beautiful toy to have and should have many hours of play value over the years. I would recommend this as the perfect gift that any little girl would adore.

Some toys are almost too pretty to play with. One of them is John Crane's High Tea Shape Matching Set! It consists of a gorgeous wooden two tiered cake stand and 15 different types of beautifully coloured and decorated cakes that look so yummy that little mouths might want to try them. Amy is still a bit young to be able to match the shapes but I can already see Amy and her cousins and friends having their own little tea parties. I just hope Mummy gets an invitation too.
The small wooden cakes can be matched to their places on the cake stand either by their shape or by number. This does not only allow little ones to develop hand/eye coordination but also to improve their shape recognition and to practice their first numbers. The High Tea Shape Matching Set does also make a great toy for pretend play. Given the fact that both the cake stand and the cakes are made of wood, I am sure that even a little sister (no, nothing is planned) will be able to play with it in a couple of years. Also, you can combine it with many of the other toys from John Crane...
The high tea shape sorting ticks many boxes, it is well made and looks attractive. The individual cakes sit in their respective spaces teaching the children about shapes including circles, squares and triangles. The set also has numbers that take the educational experince to the next level for older pre schoolers. The set goes really well with our kitchen and has provided lots of stimuli for imaginative play of tea parties with her dolls.
The only downside is once built the cake stand does not fit away in the box, unless you take it apart which seems a shame. You really need somewhere it can stand and look pretty!
